How does VoIP work?

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is the delivery of voice communications and multimedia calls over the internet.

How it works is VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, takes analogue audio signals, like the kind you hear when you talk on the phone, and turns them into digital data that can be transmitted over the Internet.

How is VoIP useful?

VoIP solutions for businesses have evolved into unified communications services that treat all communications – phone calls, faxes, voice mail, e-mail, web conferences, and more – as discrete units that can all be delivered via any means and to any handset, including cellphones.

VoIP allows both voice and data communications to run over a single network, significantly reducing infrastructure costs.

VoIP opens up a whole lot of new phone features using a cloud PBX like call routing and recording, SMS text, and video conferencing capabilities.

How do I switch to VOIP?

There are two kinds of providers competing in this space: one is focused on VoIP for medium to large enterprises, while the other targets the small-to-medium business phone market.

VoIP is simple to set up and involves porting your phone numbers across to a VoIP provider. This allows you to retain your existing phone numbers. Special handsets known as VoIP phones or SIP phones are required and can be provided, to utilise the service.

A provider can generally get most required information from your existing phone bill from your current provider, making it a hassle-free process.

is possible to build VoIP network with WLAN between 2 building?

      Hi Ragil,

It’s possible to use wireless links for VoIP but we do recommend a cabled connection where possible. When wireless is required, we would highly suggest reasonable enterprise-grade gear to give this the best quality possible.
